Fire at Dutse Home Kills Two Young Children of FUD Lecturer
On March 19, 2026, at about 4:00 a.m. in Gida Dubu, Dutse, fire engulfed rooms occupied by two children of Aminuddeen Abubakar, a staff member of the Federal University Dutse. Both children, aged 2 and 6, tragically died despite emergency response efforts. Later that day, around noon, an electrical spark in a kitchen sparked a second fire in the same area. The blaze spread to adjoining houses, damaging roofing and kitchens, but firefighters contained it before any injuries occurred. The Jigawa State NSCDC expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and urged residents to adopt strict fire safety practices. Authorities will investigate both incidents to determine their causes and recommend preventive measures.
