The Nigeria Premier Football League has sanctioned Warri Wolves after an assistant referee was assaulted following their matchday 10 fixture against Kano Pillars at the Southern Delta University Stadium in Ozoro. Warri Wolves were fined ₦4 million, with an additional ₦250,000 awarded to the injured official for medical treatment. The club will also lose three points and three goals from its accumulated total, and must play its next three home matches behind closed doors.
