LASTMA Calls on Clerics to Make Road Safety Part of Worship Services
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) is urging Christian and Muslim leaders to include road safety messages in sermons, prayers and other gatherings. General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki made the appeal during the induction of more than 100 volunteer LASTMA Mayors, ahead of the Yuletide season. He called on clerics to warn worshippers against speeding, dangerous overtaking, impaired and distracted driving, illegal parking and other traffic violations. He also urged them to promote seat-belt use, respect for traffic signals and pedestrian rights, and regular vehicle maintenance.
