Odemwingie Urges Osimhen to Stay Calm Amid Opponents’ Provocation

Former Super Eagles forward Peter Odemwingie has advised Victor Osimhen to manage his emotions better, saying opponents may deliberately try to provoke him because of his influence on the pitch. Odemwingie spoke after Osimhen clashed with Villarreal defender Santiago Mourino during Galatasaray’s 2-1 pre-season defeat. The incident followed a challenge in which Mourino appeared to block Osimhen’s movement in the penalty area. While acknowledging that players can lose their temper after being provoked, Odemwingie said he was concerned by what he described as repeated incidents. He urged Osimhen to remain composed and avoid giving opponents an advantage.
