Shakhtar Donetsk Set to Host Champions League Matches at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge
Shakhtar Donetsk will play their four home matches in the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League at Stamford Bridge, subject to final regulatory approval. The Ukrainian champions will use Chelsea’s London stadium because they remain unable to host European fixtures at home due to the war in Ukraine. Shakhtar considered other London venues, including Brentford’s ground, before reaching an agreement with Chelsea. Chelsea said it will work with Shakhtar to ensure safe and smooth matchdays for players and supporters. The arrangement is possible because Chelsea are not competing in Europe this season, leaving Stamford Bridge available for the fixtures.
