Terrorists Storm Oro-Ago in Kwara, Kill Two and Injure Security Chief
On Wednesday evening, terrorists attacked Oro-Ago, the hometown of Kwara State Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi. They killed two people and wounded the local security chief, known as Olu-Òde. Eyewitnesses say the assailants arrived in large numbers. They fired sporadically, attempted to overrun the police station and went from house to house, breaking down doors and spreading fear. Residents have fled neighbouring communities such as Ahun, Oke-Oyan and Ajegunle. Many are urging the deputy governor to intervene and calling for military support to secure the area. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement. This attack follows a recent security alert warning of coordinated strikes in Ifelodun, Irepodun and Isin local government areas.
