Patrick Stewart to Play Professor X for the Final Time in Avengers: Doomsday

Patrick Stewart is set to return as Professor Charles Xavier in Avengers: Doomsday, reportedly marking his final on-screen appearance as the character. He first played Professor X in 2000’s X-Men and portrayed him across several films, including Logan and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Stewart’s return brings him together with fellow original X-Men cast members Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn and Alan Cumming. A teaser shows Xavier and Magneto sharing a game of chess, recalling their complicated friendship. Stewart has said he still loves acting and could not imagine officially retiring. “I’ll always and forever be an actor,” he said in an interview.
