INEC to Hold June Primaries for Restored Constituencies in Four States
The Independent National Electoral Commission has restored suppressed state constituencies in Benue, Delta, Jigawa and Kogi. INEC has scheduled party primaries for these areas between June 16 and June 25 ahead of the 2027 general elections. The restoration follows court orders reinstating those constituencies. Mohammed Haruna, INEC’s Information Committee chairman, said all other timelines in the revised election timetable will apply. He urged parties to submit notices of their primaries before the scheduled dates. The commission reaffirmed its commitment to credible, inclusive and transparent electoral processes nationwide.
