Lagos Nears Completion of Major Food Logistics Hub in Epe, Sanwo-Olu Says
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says the state is close to completing a food logistics hub in Ketu, Epe, which he described as the largest of its kind in West Africa. Speaking at a Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce event on October 28, the governor said the facility would improve food storage, distribution and access for Lagos residents. He added that it could also supply markets in other parts of Nigeria. Sanwo-Olu said Lagos, as Nigeria’s largest consumer of food, needs stronger infrastructure to secure its food supply. The plan also includes a mid-level market that will receive goods from the hub and distribute them to retailers and consumers. The project is part of the state’s wider food-security strategy amid concerns about rising food prices and affordability.
