Rangers, Rivers United and El-Kanemi Begin NPFL Pre-Season Tournament in Jos

Rangers International, Rivers United and El-Kanemi Warriors will use the six-team NPFL Pre-Season Invitational Tournament in Jos to prepare for the 2026/27 CAF inter-club competitions. The tournament runs from 19 to 23 August at the New Jos City Stadium. Plateau United, Katsina United and Mighty Jets complete the lineup. Katsina United replaced Shooting Stars, who were excluded after proposing to combine first-team and academy players. Rivers United and Plateau United open the competition. Group A contains Rivers United, Plateau United and Rangers International, while El-Kanemi Warriors, Mighty Jets and Katsina United are in Group B. The NPFL says the event will help clubs build match fitness, improve team cohesion and test tactical plans ahead of the new league season and continental fixtures.
