Iran Offers $30,000 Reward for Killing or Capturing US Soldiers

Iran’s military has announced a reward of $30,000 for anyone who kills or captures and hands over a United States soldier. Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Amir Hatami said the offer followed requests from people seeking to support Iran’s military effort. Hatami said Iranian women who carry out such an action would receive double the reward. He did not state where, when or under what circumstances American personnel could be targeted. The announcement comes amid continuing tensions between Tehran and Washington after months of confrontation, failed peace efforts and intermittent exchanges of fire. The Strait of Hormuz remains a major flashpoint because of its importance to global oil shipments and energy prices.

How seriously should people read this $30,000 offer: as an official military policy, or mainly a signal meant to rally support?

Is there any indication whether this reward came from an official government channel or a separate group?

The fact that the announcement follows requests from supporters shows how quickly public anger can be pulled into a military conflict.

A cash reward may sound dramatic, but it does not automatically mean people will act on it or change events on the ground.

It is worth watching for official responses and verified reporting, rather than treating one announcement as the full picture.
