Gunman Convicted of Killing Dallas Rapper MO3 Gets Life Without Parole
Kewon Dontrell White, 27, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the 2020 killing of Dallas rapper Melvin Noble, popularly known as MO3. The sentence followed a jury verdict after prosecutors declined to seek the death penalty. MO3 was killed on 11 November 2020 during a daytime attack on Interstate 35 near the Dallas Zoo. Prosecutors presented surveillance footage and phone-record evidence they said linked White to the attack and to a black Camaro that followed the rapper before the shooting. Prosecutors also alleged that rapper Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, arranged the killing after a long-running feud with MO3. Two other men, Devin Brown and Jerry Johnson, are also charged in the case. They have pleaded not guilty, and trial dates have not been announced.
