Anambra Marks 35th Anniversary With Tree-Planting Drive and Green Agenda
Anambra State will mark its 35th anniversary on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with activities centred on the theme, “Our Environment, Our Future.” The celebration will focus on promoting a cleaner and greener state while drawing attention to environmental challenges. The state executive council said the programme will include a tree-planting campaign and a media chat with Governor Chukwuma Soludo. It also urged public office holders to exercise power responsibly and in the public interest. Council reviewed plans for the Anambra Aerotropolis, including an industrial city and entertainment hub within the free-trade zone. It also approved standards for cooperatives and expressed satisfaction with progress on the regeneration of Onitsha Main Market.
