Ugandan Footballer David Owori Dies After Reported Robbery Attack in Kampala

Ugandan international footballer and SC Villa captain David Owori has died after he was reportedly attacked by robbers outside his home in Kampala. The 27-year-old was said to have resisted an attempt to steal his mobile phone before being assaulted with paving stones. Owori was taken to a medical facility and later transferred to another hospital, where he died from his injuries on Wednesday, August 5. SC Villa and the Ugandan Football Federation have paid tribute to Owori, describing him as a committed captain, respected leader and role model. The club has called on security agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible.
