45-Year-Old Man Arrested for Allegedly Defiling Neighbour’s 8-Year-Old Daughter in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command says it has arrested 45-year-old Muhammad Makama over the alleged defilement of his neighbour’s eight-year-old daughter in Dorawan Dillalai, Bauchi metropolis. According to a statement from the police spokesperson, the girl’s mother reported on 5 July that Makama lured her daughter into his room and defiled her. Police took the victim for medical examination and treated Makama after he was assaulted by angry community members. The case is now with the Gender Laboratory of the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and prosecution. The Commissioner of Police condemned the act and urged community vigilance and prompt reporting of any suspicious activity involving children.
