FCTA Approves Upgrade of 14 General Hospitals, Revival of Utako Hospital
The FCT Executive Council has approved the renovation, rehabilitation and upgrading of all 14 general hospitals in Abuja. The plan includes new X-ray and diagnostic equipment, improved hospital theatres, and other medical facilities. Work is also set to resume on the long-abandoned Utako General Hospital. The project will cover construction, equipment and staffing, with the aim of improving affordable and accessible healthcare for FCT residents. The council also approved projects in education, justice, water supply, power and environmental management. These include the digitalisation of 67 FCT High Court courtrooms, examination materials for public schools, and a ₦5.703 billion power line for Dawaki, Tukulo and nearby Bwari communities.
