NPA Clears Idle NDPHC Power Equipment, Says Move Will Prevent Billions in Losses
The Nigerian Ports Authority has facilitated the clearance and recovery of power equipment belonging to the Niger Delta Power Holding Company that had remained idle at seaports. NDPHC Managing Director Jennifer Adighije said the intervention could prevent billions of naira in losses and help contractors keep power projects on schedule. She said delays in clearing imported equipment raise costs and slow progress toward improved electricity supply. During a meeting in Lagos, NPA Managing Director Abubakar Dantsoho said the authority would continue to work with NDPHC and other agencies to reduce port-related bottlenecks affecting critical infrastructure projects.
