Ndume Proposes Pay-As-You-Go System for Senate

Ali Ndume of Borno South says senators should be paid only when they attend plenary or committee sittings. He argued that lawmakers spend long periods on recess and only work during scheduled sessions. “If you sit, you get paid. If you are not sitting, you are not paid,” he said. Ndume also urged a more deliberative approach to urgent national issues like state policing, warning against overnight approvals without proper input.
