Eric Chelle Invites 13 New Players for Super Eagles Friendlies and AFCON Qualifiers
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has handed first senior call-ups to 13 players ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming international fixtures, including a friendly against Russia and the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The invitees include goalkeeper Samuel James of SJK, Fulham midfielder Chibuzo Nwoko, Alverca defender Isaac James, Basel centre-back Victory Akpe and LASK winger Moses Usor. Other new names are Stephen Michael, Igor Wilfred, Abdulrasaq Popoola, Mubarak Suleiman, Umar Abubakar, George Ilenikhena, Peter Edokpolor and Umar Abdullahi. The squad expansion gives Chelle more options to assess as Nigeria prepares for matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
