Moghalu Urges Ndigbo to Turn Igbo Charter Into Economic and Political Action

Former CBN Deputy Governor Kingsley Moghalu has urged Ndigbo to move beyond producing policy documents and begin implementing ideas that can deliver economic, cultural and political gains. Speaking at the Igbo Day celebration in Umuahia, Moghalu said the Igbo Charter of Strategic Engagement for National Development must not become another abandoned report. He called for funding, clear responsibilities, measurable targets and regular independent reviews. He listed Igbo-language education, a digital marketplace, a global diaspora register, certified apprenticeship and a credible regional security framework as immediate priorities. Moghalu also called for restructuring and greater devolution of powers, while warning political parties not to take ownership of the Charter.
