NFF Shifts 2026 Elective Congress to September 27 Over Super Eagles Match

NFF Shifts 2026 Elective Congress to September 27 Over Super Eagles Match

The Nigeria Football Federation has moved its 2026 Elective Congress from Saturday, September 26, to Sunday, September 27, in Lafia, Nasarawa State. The decision was unanimously approved during an extraordinary virtual General Assembly. The congress will elect a new NFF Executive Committee to run Nigerian football for the next four years. NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau said the shift was necessary because the Super Eagles will face Madagascar in their opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday, September 25. Several election candidates are expected to be involved with the national team and may not be able to reach Lafia in time for the original date. The one-day adjustment is intended to give all stakeholders a fair chance to participate in the election.
