2027: Dan Ulasi Says South-East Will Back Peter Obi Over Federal Neglect Claims
Elder statesman Dan Ulasi says Peter Obi remains the South-East’s strongest political hope ahead of the 2027 presidential election. He argues that many people in the region feel excluded by the APC-led Federal Government. Speaking on a television programme, Ulasi claimed Obi could win at least 90 per cent of votes in the South-East. He said voters believe the Federal Government has not adequately addressed the region’s development needs. Ulasi criticised the focus on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, arguing that it offers little direct benefit to the five South-East states. He nevertheless acknowledged efforts by governors in the region to improve their states. He said the South-East would use the 2027 election to demand greater political inclusion and express dissatisfaction over infrastructure and federal appointments.
