Five Boxers Reportedly Missing in Scotland After Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games
Four Ugandan boxers and Pakistani boxer Qudrat Ullah have reportedly been declared missing in Scotland after the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The Ugandan athletes—Angel Katushabe, Nuhu Batte, Ibrahim Khemis and Emily Nakalema—did not return home with the rest of their delegation. Reports suggest they may have remained in the UK to seek asylum, but this has not been officially confirmed. Police Scotland said it is investigating reports of several unaccounted-for athletes in collaboration with the UK Home Office. Ugandan and Pakistani authorities had not issued official statements at the time of the report. Similar incidents involving Ugandan athletes were reported after the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games.
