Why PRP Rejected Peter Obi and Kwankwaso’s 2027 Bid, Says Baba-Ahmed
The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has explained why Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso were unable to join the PRP ahead of the 2027 election. He said both leaders approached the party requesting its presidential ticket without first becoming members or facing internal primaries. PRP insisted that anyone seeking its ticket must follow established membership procedures and constitutional rules. The chairman added that the two camps also asked for numerous party positions to accommodate their supporters. While the party welcomed their interest, it maintained that all protocols must be respected before any further talks could advance.
