NAFDAC Did Not Declare Cowbell, Peak Milk, Coca-Cola and Others Fake
A viral list claiming that NAFDAC recently declared popular brands, foods, medicines and cosmetics fake is misleading. The list combines separate regulatory alerts, recalls and enforcement actions issued over different years. NAFDAC did warn about counterfeit versions of products including Cowbell sachet milk, Peak Milk, some beverages, rice brands and medicines. However, many alerts concerned specific batches, variants, falsified packaging, unregistered products or recalled items. They were not blanket declarations that every product sold under those brand names is fake. Consumers should check the exact product, batch number, packaging and NAFDAC registration details against the agency’s official safety notices. Broad categories such as palm oil, honey, fish, meat and yoghurt should not be labelled fake without verified evidence and proper testing.
