X Ends Old Revenue Sharing: New Rules Nigerian Creators Must Meet to Keep Earning
X has replaced its Creator Revenue Sharing programme with Original Content Rewards. The old programme stopped accepting new creators on August 7, 2026, and ended on September 7, 2026. Nigerian creators can apply for the new programme if they have at least 500 verified followers, 500,000 qualifying Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the past 90 days, an eligible Premium subscription and an account in good standing. The new scheme places greater value on original posts, videos, graphics, memes and analysis. Reposted material, copied content, artificial engagement, bots and repeated policy violations can lead to rejection or loss of monetisation. Existing earners must still apply and be approved. Those rejected may appeal once; if the appeal fails, they must wait 90 days before applying again.
