Guarding Against Presumption: A Call to Holiness

Guarding Against Presumption: A Call to Holiness

There is a fine line between faith and presumption. Jesus warns us to stay vigilant, for temptation is real (Mark 13:37, 14:38). Holiness remains God’s standard in every thought and interaction, both in private and in public (Zechariah 14:20). “Be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). We were not redeemed with silver or gold, but by the precious blood of Christ, a spotless Lamb (1 Peter 1:18–19). Our faith and hope are grounded in God’s power. Having purified our souls by obeying the truth, let us love one another earnestly. All flesh is like grass, but the word of the Lord endures forever (1 Peter 1:22–25). Amen.
