Obafemi Martins: I Was Faster Than Ronaldo, Henry and Mbappé in My Prime
Former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins has restated his belief that no forward could match his explosive pace at his peak. Speaking on John Obi Mikel’s podcast, Martins said he was quicker over the first 10 to 15 metres than Cristiano Ronaldo, Thierry Henry and Kylian Mbappé. Mikel agreed that Martins was exceptionally quick, especially in his acceleration. Martins’ pace also became famous among Pro Evolution Soccer and Winning Eleven players, where he received a maximum rating of 99 for both speed and acceleration. The former Inter Milan, Newcastle and Birmingham City forward scored 18 goals in 48 appearances for Nigeria.
