Indian Woman Sets Guinness World Record With 8ft 10in Hair
Renu Dhariyal from Uttarakhand, India, has been recognised by Guinness World Records for the longest hair on a living woman. Her hair measured 271.5 centimetres, or 8ft 10in, during an official measurement in April 2026. Dhariyal says she has not cut her hair since 2015. She spends hours washing and detangling it, relying on natural hair products and homemade oils as part of her routine. Her record surpasses the previous holder, Ukraine’s Aliia Nasyrova, whose hair measured 257.33 centimetres. Dhariyal says her achievement reflects her commitment to natural beauty and Indian cultural traditions.
