FRSC Nabs Suspect in Assault on Road Safety Officers in Edo
The Federal Road Safety Corps has issued a stern warning following the arrest of a man accused of attacking its officers in Edo State. Officials say the incident occurred on April 11 when a patrol team stopped a vehicle for a seat belt violation. The driver fled, rallied commercial tricycle riders and physically assaulted two marshals, pushing one into a gutter and beating the team leader. Security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the DSS, tracked and arrested the suspect. He has confessed and shown remorse but will face full prosecution under the corps’ zero-tolerance policy. The Corps Marshal urged the public to cooperate with FRSC personnel and use official channels for complaints. He also confirmed the injured marshal is now stable and receiving medical care.
