Building Under Construction Collapses in Kano: Three Rescued, One Still Trapped

Building Under Construction Collapses in Kano: Three Rescued, One Still Trapped

A two-storey building under construction along Sultan Road in Nasarawa Local Government Area, Kano State, gave way at about 9 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026. Workers on the top floor spotted signs of structural distress and rushed for safety, but four people were caught beneath the debris. Rescue teams quickly arrived on scene. Three victims – including a security guard and a tricycle rider – have been pulled out and taken to Sir Muhammadu Sanusi Hospital for treatment. One person remains trapped as emergency responders and volunteers continue digging. Authorities have cordoned off the site and urged construction firms to reinforce safety protocols. Operations are ongoing to recover the fourth victim and prevent further collapses in the area.
