Ndidi: Super Eagles Ready to Avoid Past Mistakes in AFCON Qualifiers
Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi says Nigeria are determined to begin their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign strongly against Madagascar on Friday. Ndidi said the team has learned from its poor start to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, when Nigeria failed to win any of its opening four matches and ultimately missed out on the tournament. Speaking in Uyo, the Leicester City midfielder said the players are focused on building early momentum. Nigeria will host Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau four days later.
