FIFA to Visit Nigeria Before Approving NFF Restructuring Plan
FIFA will send a delegation to Nigeria to assess plans to restructure the Nigeria Football Federation before deciding whether to approve a proposed Normalisation Committee. The move follows talks in Zurich involving FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the National Sports Commission, the Confederation of African Football and NFF officials. The discussions came after the resignation of the Ibrahim Musa Gusau-led NFF board. Nigeria’s proposed committee would oversee reforms, stabilise football administration and prepare for fresh NFF elections. FIFA is expected to vet the plan and prospective committee members to ensure they meet its integrity and eligibility rules. The visit could determine the structure and duration of the transition process, as well as the roadmap for a new NFF leadership.
