ADC Suspends Wuse Ward Chairman and Two Others Over Illegitimate Move Against Senator Ireti Kingibe
The Federal Capital Territory chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended three Wuse ward executives for reportedly violating party procedures in the attempted suspension of Senator Ireti Kingibe. At a press briefing in Abuja, Emmanuel Destiny of the National Working Committee said the ward’s action breached the party constitution and lacked due process. Deputy National Auditor Nneka Nneboh and FCT Secretary John Hyginus also condemned the officials’ conduct as anti-party and called for disciplinary measures. The Wuse ward had accused Senator Kingibe of insubordination and withholding campaign funds, but the national leadership disowned the suspension and urged members to ignore the claims. The meeting, attended by key party organs, reaffirmed support for due process and the senator’s mandate. ADC’s national body warned against further “gangsterism” and affirmed that any breach of party rules would attract sanctions.
