Edo Queens, Rangers and Three Nigerian Clubs Begin Continental Push
Nigeria Football Federation Acting General Secretary Emmanuel Ikpeme has urged Edo Queens, Rangers, Rivers United, Shooting Stars and El-Kanemi Warriors to represent Nigeria strongly in their continental fixtures. Edo Queens face Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa in the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League final in Ouagadougou. Victory would secure their place in this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League finals. In the CAF Champions League, Rivers United travel to face FC San Pedro in Côte d’Ivoire, while Rangers host Benin Republic’s SOBEMAP FC in Abeokuta. Shooting Stars meet Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup, while El-Kanemi Warriors face Guinea’s Deportivo Nationale in Ikenne. Ikpeme said the clubs must approach the matches with focus and ambition as Nigeria seeks to regain prominence in African club football.
