Nigerian Teen Jailed for Trying to Steal £72,500 Porsche With Fake Gun

A 19-year-old Nigerian man has been sentenced to four years in prison in the UK after trying to rob a Porsche Cayenne during a private sale. Fawaz Oyedeji posed as a buyer and arranged to view the £72,500 vehicle at its owner’s home in Southwark on March 18, 2026. After getting into the car, Oyedeji pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the owner and demanded the keys. The owner fought back, and Oyedeji fled without the vehicle. Police used CCTV, phone records and clothing evidence to identify him. He was arrested at his home within 38 hours. A jury at Inner London Crown Court found Oyedeji guilty after 26 minutes of deliberation on November 4, 2026. He was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment.
