Ekiti Court Revokes Ex-APC Aspirant’s Bail, Issues Warrant Over Alleged Cyberbullying
An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court has revoked the bail granted to former APC governorship aspirant Abimbola Olawumi and issued a bench warrant for her arrest over alleged cyberbullying and false accusations on social media. Olawumi, who pleaded not guilty to a four-count charge after her arraignment on July 23, was absent from the resumed hearing. Her lawyer told the court she was ill and submitted a medical report. The police prosecutor opposed the explanation, alleging that she remained active on social media and continued to threaten and bully the complainant and others. The magistrate ruled that her absence breached the conditions of her bail and adjourned the case to August 17.
