HDAN Urges Abia State to Halt Ogwumabiri Project and Respect Court Injunction
The Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) has called on the Abia State Government to comply with a perpetual court injunction on the disputed Ogwumabiri land. The group urges suspension of all activities related to the proposed motor park and railway station until legal issues are fully resolved. HDAN notes that on July 30, 2025, the High Court issued an order barring further entry into the site. The Court of Appeal dismissed the government’s appeal on May 6, 2026, leaving the injunction in force. The network warns that ignoring court orders undermines the rule of law, investor confidence, and sustainable development. It urges all parties to pursue lawful dialogue and responsible engagement. HDAN also calls on state governments nationwide to protect property rights, foster an investment-friendly environment, and strengthen faith in legal and institutional systems.
