Akure Ponmo Processing Centre Sealed After Sanitation Team Finds Buckets of Human Waste

Environmental sanitation officials in Akure, Ondo State, have reportedly arrested a ponmo seller after buckets containing human waste were found near her cowhide-processing area. The inspection took place at a processing centre on Igboliki Street in Akure. The chairman of Akure South Local Government was seen in a circulating video ordering the seller's arrest and the sealing of the premises. The discovery has raised fresh concerns about food hygiene and the safety of ponmo sold to residents.
