Troops Foil Robbery Attempt, Rescue Two Motorcyclists in Plateau

Troops of Sector 8, Operation Enduring Peace, have foiled an attempted armed robbery on the Apel-Jipun Road in Pushit District, Mangu LGA of Plateau State. The troops responded after reports of gunshots on August 23, 2026. The suspected robbers fled into the surrounding area as soldiers arrived. Two residents, Samuel Dauda and Luka Daar, were rescued after reportedly encountering the gunmen while returning from Maraban on a motorcycle. Troops recovered three spent 7.62mm special ammunition cartridges and have increased patrols along the route.
