NCWS Mourns University of Maiduguri Professor Emeritus Mohammed Yerima Balla

The National Council of Women Societies has mourned the death of Professor Emeritus Mohammed Yerima Balla of the University of Maiduguri's Department of Mathematical Sciences. The council described him as a respected mathematician and statistician whose work in functional analysis and fixed point theory earned international recognition. It also highlighted his service as a former Head of Department and Dean of the Faculty of Science. Professor Balla was remembered for mentoring young people, supporting others without regard to tribe or religion, and standing for fairness and merit. The council extended condolences to his family, the Hoba (Kilba) community, Adamawa State and the University of Maiduguri community.
