Sassuolo Enquire About Leicester’s Nigerian-Eligible Defender Caleb Okoli

Sassuolo have reportedly approached Leicester City over Nigerian-eligible defender Caleb Okoli as they look to reinforce their back line for the new season. Leicester are said to value the 25-year-old centre-back at about €8 million. Okoli remains under contract until June 2029, but a return to Serie A could appeal after Leicester’s recent relegations. Okoli previously made 51 Serie A appearances for Atalanta and Frosinone. Torino, Monza and some English clubs are also reportedly monitoring his situation. The move could also shape his international future. He has represented Italy at youth level and received a senior call-up, but is still eligible for Nigeria because he has not played a senior competitive match for Italy.
