Lionel Messi says he hopes fans remember him as an athlete who never stopped fighting to achieve his goals and dreams. The Inter Miami forward shared the reflection in Oviedo, Spain, while receiving the 2026 Princess of Asturias Award for Sports. Messi said that although he did not achieve every ambition, he always kept striving to win what was ahead of him. The Argentine has won 48 senior team trophies, including the 2022 World Cup, two Copa América titles, 10 La Liga crowns and four UEFA Champions League titles. He also holds a record eight Ballon d’Or awards and has scored more than 900 career goals for club and country.
