Liverpool’s Ifeanyi Ndukwe Is Eligible to Play for Nigeria
Ifeanyi Ndukwe, an Austrian-born centre-back with a Nigerian father, is eligible to represent Nigeria internationally. The 18-year-old developed at Austria Wien and has represented Austria at youth level, including their run to the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup final. Standing at 1.98 metres, Ndukwe is known for his aerial strength, composure on the ball and ability to play out from defence. He joined Liverpool in 2026 after the club agreed an initial £2.6 million transfer fee. Ndukwe impressed during Liverpool's pre-season win over Sunderland. He is expected to spend the 2026/27 season on loan in Europe because of work-permit requirements, but remains one to watch for Nigeria's future defensive options.
