Anambra Gives Owners One Month to Remove Abandoned Cars, Approves Third Youth Scheme Batch
Anambra State has directed the road traffic agency to give owners of vehicles abandoned along roads one month to remove them. Vehicles left behind after the deadline may be impounded and scrapped. The government says the move is intended to reduce hazards and improve traffic flow and road safety. The State Executive Council also approved the selection and training of beneficiaries for the third batch of the One Youth, Two Skills entrepreneurship programme. Details on eligibility and applications will be announced later. The government says more than 13,000 young people completed the first two batches, and reports that over 5,000 beneficiaries have become millionaires. The council further approved extending its urban regeneration programme to Upper Iweka in Onitsha. A master plan for the project is expected to be unveiled soon.
