Kylian Mbappé Leaves Nike for On in Landmark 10-Year Equity Deal
Kylian Mbappé has ended his long-running partnership with Nike to join Swiss sportswear company On in a 10-year deal that includes an equity stake. The Real Madrid and France forward will become a global ambassador and shareholder as On prepares to enter the football boot market. The company plans to release its first premium football boots in 2027 using its LightSpray manufacturing technology. Mbappé said he was attracted by the chance to help build products that could shape the future of football. The arrangement gives him a long-term ownership interest, similar to the athlete-brand model made famous by Michael Jordan and later adopted by Roger Federer. On has also appointed former France and Arsenal striker Thierry Henry to lead its football division as it expands its presence in the sport.
