A head-on collision on the Third Mainland Bridge early Tuesday claimed the life of a mother, leaving her 30-year-old daughter as the sole survivor. The crash occurred near the Ilaje inward Iyana Oworo axis. Two Toyota Sienna vehicles collided violently, leaving both cars badly mangled. LASTMA officials blamed excessive speeding for the catastrophic impact. Eyewitnesses described a thunderous crash that sent shockwaves across the busy span, causing immediate gridlock. LASTMA operatives and Oworonsoki Division police arrived swiftly, sealing off the scene and launching an investigation. One driver fled the scene, while the other was apprehended and handed over to police.
