Long Island Man Charged With Murder of His Father After Fatal Stabbing
A 33-year-old man, Sage Arias-Brown, has been charged with second-degree murder over the fatal stabbing of his 69-year-old father, Edward Brown, in Mastic, Long Island. Prosecutors alleged that Arias-Brown forced his way into his father’s apartment shortly after midnight and stabbed him several times in the chest and abdomen before fleeing. A witness reportedly heard Brown calling for help. Brown allegedly managed to call emergency services before collapsing. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Arias-Brown was arrested nearby, pleaded not guilty and was remanded without bail. His lawyer said he has a history of mental illness and an unresolved robbery case.
