FCT Police Arrest 40 Suspects Over Traffic Robbery, Kidnapping and One-Way Offences

The FCT Police Command says it has arrested 40 suspects in separate operations targeting traffic robbery, armed robbery, kidnapping and traffic violations in Abuja. Commissioner of Police Ahmed Sanusi said 10 suspects were arrested for allegedly posing as hawkers to rob motorists at congested roads and traffic stops. Another 20 people were charged to court for driving against traffic. Police also arrested two suspects linked to robbery cases in Nyanya and Kubwa, recovering five motorcycles, three knives and other items. Two other suspects were arrested over the kidnapping of three Nyanya residents, who were rescued unharmed. Six additional suspects were arrested over alleged night-time housebreaking, theft and attacks on residents. The command urged FCT residents to report suspicious activities to the police.
