11 Charged Over Alleged Assaults at Ozoro Festival, Some Granted Bail

Delta State Police Command says all 11 suspects arrested over the alleged assaults during a festival in Oramudu Quarters, Ozoro, have been arraigned on an eight-count charge. The incident sparked outrage in March after videos showed men allegedly harassing women on the streets during the festival. Some victims were said to have been sexually assaulted. Police spokesperson Bright Edafe said the prosecution has faced a setback because no victim or witness has come forward. Suspects who met their bail conditions have been released, while those who did not were remanded in custody. Edafe added that the police had not received any report of similar alleged assaults at a festival in Ekpan.
